No Pain No Gain

I must admit, getting the right data is often a painful process (at least at the start of most projects).

However, it is a rewarding endeavor.

A bit like when I solved the most complicated equation on my last math exam… first, it was painful, confusing, and stressful – but all of a sudden everything became clear and the answer was blatant.

That is often the process when it comes to data analysis. You don’t always know what you are after – but there is often that moment of clarity that only numbers can bring.

As an example, when I work on an E.commerce store, I am like a kid in a candy store. The data is so easy to get and everything can be tracked.

One of my favourite activities is doing profit projections – identifying the most profitable products and untouched keyword ranking opportunities.

Then compare the project with what we actually achieved 6 months later.
