I never saw myself as a leader, and one day, two colleagues went to see the company’s Executive Director asking him to promote me as their next sales team leader (managing the #1 real estate agency in Paris East).
Yes, two colleagues who I helped when they first joined the company, went of their own volition to the Executive Director’s office, saying… well great things about me. That is how I got promoted.
I believe you don’t ‘become’ a leader – but one way or another – your team will grant you that title – or not.
A leader needs to care and focus on the team before the project.
I am not really seeking to become a ‘leader’, but more so working with talented, smart, and nimble people – who I can laugh with whilst achieving incredible results.
